Cardboard Tube Packaging for Pet Care and Pet Supplements
Pet owners buy for their animals the way they buy for themselves, and they judge a brand by what it feels like in the hand. ArtasPack makes custom printed cardboard tubes and cylinder boxes for pet supplements, probiotics, soft chews, treats, powder toppers and premium grooming lines. A wound board cylinder replaces the plastic jar and the flexible pouch with a pack that stands up on shelf, survives parcel shipping and separates cleanly for recycling. Greaseproof and foil liners handle oily chews and moisture sensitive powders, and diameters run from 32 mm to 195 mm so the pack matches your fill weight. Minimum order 1,000 pcs, lead time from 4 weeks.

Why pet brands choose cylinder boxes
1. Barrier protection for chews and powders
Pet supplements lose potency to moisture and oxidation, and soft chews leach oil into ordinary board. We build the barrier into the wall rather than adding a plastic sleeve. An aluminium foil or PE liner isolates powder toppers and vitamin blends from humidity and odour pick up, while glassine and greaseproof layers stop fat from wicking through and staining a printed surface.
For live cultures we recommend sealing the dose in a sachet and using the cylinder as secondary packaging. The wound wall, 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm thick, also stops crushing in transit and cuts damage claims.
2. Sized to your fill weight
You are not stuck with a stock jar. We tool the diameter and height around a 150 g, 300 g or 500 g fill, so there is no dead headspace, no rattle and no wasted volume on the pallet. Inside diameters run from 32 mm to 195 mm.
Lid choice is functional, not decorative: metal lids for a firm reclose on daily use products, all paper rolled edge lids where the buyer wants a plastic free pack, and shaker lids for powder toppers that get sprinkled onto food. Tell us the scoop or dosing spoon and we allow for it.
3. Shelf presence you can feel
The pet aisle is crowded and mostly plastic, which makes a printed cylinder stand out before anyone reads the label. Your artwork wraps the pack in one continuous band with no corner to break the story. Hot foil stamping, embossing, spot UV and soft touch lamination give the buyer a reason to pick the pack up, and kraft or textured papers signal a natural formulation without a single claim on the front panel.
Our printing partners cover offset and digital, so a launch range with several SKUs can share one tube size and differ only in print.
Less plastic, traceable paper
Pet owners who read an ingredient panel also read a packaging claim. A paper based cylinder gives you a straightforward answer: the board is FSC® certified under licence code C184527 and traceable to responsibly managed forests, the body is recyclable, and a metal lid pulls off cleanly for separate collection. Compared with a rigid plastic jar the pack carries a lower fossil content and ships flat packed lids.
Water based inks and solvent free adhesives are used where the print method allows, and the range is designed to meet the requirements of the EU’s PPWR.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our minimum order quantity is 1,000 pcs per printed design. It covers a custom diameter, height, liner and lid, so a boutique pet brand can launch without committing to container volumes, and larger fillers can scale from the same tooling. Lead time starts at 4 weeks from approved artwork and approved mock-up. If you run several SKUs, keeping one tube size across the range lets you reach the quantity faster and change only the print.
Yes, and it is one of the most common uses. A cylinder box built to the exact diameter of your glass bottle, dropper bottle or plastic jar protects it from breakage, gives the product a larger and more premium shelf footprint, and carries all the print your primary container cannot. We add a die-cut EVA foam or cardboard seat so the bottle sits shake free inside the tube instead of moving around in transit.
Not if the tube is specified for it. Fats from soft chews, jerky and oil coated kibble treats migrate into untreated board and show as dark patches, so for those products we line the inner wall with glassine or an aluminium foil layer that blocks the oil before it reaches the printed outer surface. For dry chews and hard treats a standard white or kraft inner face is enough. Tell us the fat content when you send your RFQ.
Yes. We supply the die-line template for the diameter and height you select and place your artwork on it, checking the seam, lid overlap and bleed before print. You also get a 3D visual of the finished pack for internal sign off. Printed and unprinted samples are available so you can assess board, foil and lamination in the hand, and on request we produce a pre-production mock-up of your own design for approval before the run starts.
