Certifications — FSC® Certified Packaging

Our approach is straightforward: rather than a wall of logos, we would rather give a buyer evidence that can be checked directly against the number. If your specification calls for something outside our scope, we say so at the start, so your compliance team can plan around it.

Below you will find what the certificate covers, the documentation we issue with every order, how we handle food-contact and material declarations, and how our packaging is positioned for the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation. ArtasPack has manufactured cardboard tubes in Istanbul since 1986 and ships to more than twenty countries.

Chain of custody is not a claim about one product. It is an audited system covering how certified fibre is bought, stored, processed, invoiced and recorded. For a brand buying cylinder packaging, three things follow from it:

• Traceable fibre. The board in your tube is traceable through the supply chain back to responsibly managed forest sources.
• A licence code you can check. FSC®-C184527 belongs to us, it is public, and it can be verified independently — you are not asked to take our word for it.
• Labelling rights on your packaging. Where an order is produced and invoiced as FSC certified, the FSC label can be carried on the packaging itself, subject to FSC’s own trademark approval process.

Tell us at quotation stage if your order needs to be FSC certified and labelled. It is specified per order rather than assumed, because it affects board sourcing, availability and cost.

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation is changing what a European buyer can put on a shelf. Cylinder packaging built from paper starts from a good position, and we specify it accordingly:

• Paper-based construction that is designed to go into standard kerbside paper recycling
• Recycled fibre prioritised across the board and kraft substrates we specify
• A plastic-free product family with no polymer components at all — body, lid and closure are paper
• Structures built to the product’s real diameter and height, which is also how you keep empty space out of the pack
• Material data held on file and supplied on request, so your own declarations rest on documented figures

No manufacturer can certify your compliance for you — where responsibility sits depends on how the packaging is bought, branded and imported, and should be confirmed with your own advisers. What we can do is supply packaging designed to meet the requirements and the data behind it. A certificate describes a system; quality control is what the buyer actually receives. On every order:

• Every printed sheet passes our own incoming inspection before it reaches the winder
• Dimensional, print and closure checks run throughout the production run, not only at the end
• A retained sample is kept for every batch

Winding, labelling, die-cutting and assembly happen in our own plant at Hadımköy, Istanbul. Printing and specialist finishing run with partner houses we have worked with for years, under our quality controls and on our schedule — a print network rather than a single press, which is why we can match a project to the right technique instead of the one machine in the corner. Choosing environmentally responsible packaging is not a marketing exercise here; paper is the material we have always worked in. Our products are paper-based and near-100% recyclable, we prioritise recycled fibre in raw material sourcing, and our plastic-free range removes polymer components entirely. We launched that range in 2020, before the regulation made it commercially necessary.

For a brand replacing a tin or a rigid plastic gift tube, a rolled edge cylinder pack or a kraft cylinder tube usually keeps the shelf presence and changes the recycling story at the same time.

Which certification does ArtasPack hold?

ArtasPack holds FSC® chain-of-custody certification under licence code FSC®-C184527, covering the cardboard tubes and cylinder boxes produced at our Istanbul plant. The certificate and the product schedule are shown on this page and sent as PDFs with any quotation.

Can we print the FSC® logo on our packaging?

Yes, where the order is produced and invoiced as FSC certified. The label is applied under FSC trademark rules, so the artwork needs their approval before print. Tell us at quotation stage that the order is to be certified and labelled, because it affects board sourcing and cost.

Is your packaging suitable for food contact?

Composite tubes for coffee, tea, spices, supplements and confectionery are specified with food-grade liners, and with barrier liners where the product needs aroma or moisture protection. We obtain the food-contact declaration for the coating or liner from the material supplier and pass it to you with the component breakdown and weights.

Does your packaging comply with the EU PPWR?

Our packaging is paper-based, recycled-fibre-led and designed to meet the requirements of the PPWR, and our plastic-free family removes polymer components entirely. Legal compliance sits with the party placing the packaging on the EU market, so we support it with documented material data rather than a blanket guarantee.

What documents do you send with an order?

Material composition and grammage, component breakdown and weights, dimensions and dieline specification, the FSC® chain-of-custody reference, food-contact declarations where they apply, and a recyclability statement. If your compliance team needs a specific format, we prepare it with you.

What is your minimum order and lead time?

Minimum order is 1,000 pieces per design. You receive a quotation within 24 hours, production starts from three weeks and door-to-door delivery runs from four weeks. Lead times vary with order quantity and technical specification.
