Custom Cylinder Boxes for Chocolate and Confectionery

In fine chocolate the presentation is part of the product, and the pack is where a buyer meets your brand first. ArtasPack manufactures custom printed cylinder boxes for chocolate and confectionery brands, co-packers and corporate gifting programmes. The cylindrical form separates you from the standard square gift box on a crowded seasonal shelf and gives you one uninterrupted surface for artwork, with no corner cutting through the design. Diameters run from 32 mm to 195 mm and height is set to your filling, so a single praline, a dragee assortment, a truffle selection or a 500 g gift format each sit correctly. These boxes are secondary packaging: they hold and present product that is already wrapped, foiled or in a primary pack.

Chocolate and confectionery boxes

Why choose a cylinder box for chocolate?

1. Shelf presence and differentiation

Square boxes crowd each other in a confectionery display; a cylinder reads as a separate object. The curved wall carries a continuous design, so a minimal identity and a dense illustrated pattern both reproduce cleanly across the full circumference. Hot foil stamping, embossing, spot UV and soft touch lamination build the material cues buyers associate with a premium price, and several can be combined on the same body without a second tool. Printing and finishing of the printed paper are produced with our printing partners from your files, in CMYK or Pantone.

2. Protection as secondary packaging

Chocolate is sensitive to heat, light and physical shock. Printed paper wound onto a high density board core resists vertical crushing the way a column does, spreading stacking load around the circumference instead of concentrating it at four corners. Wall thickness runs from 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm depending on format and filled weight. Used over your primary pack, whether that is foil wrap, flow wrap or a moulded insert, the cylinder keeps product intact through retail distribution and e-commerce parcel networks, so units arrive in the condition they left the line.

3. Sized to the product, not to a catalogue

We tool to your filling rather than asking you to fit an existing box. Diameter and height are set from the praline, bar, dragee count or assortment you are packing, with base pads or fitments where the arrangement needs to stay rigid. Closures include a curled edge board lid, a telescopic lid or a metal lid, and a straight cut sharp edge finish where the design calls for it. Send us the product dimensions and unit weight and we return a construction, a die line and a sample.

Sustainability and materials

ArtasPack has produced cardboard tubes and cylinder boxes in Hadımköy, Istanbul since 1986, in a 6,000 m² plant twenty minutes from Istanbul Airport. Winding, labelling, die cutting and assembly are done in house, while printing and finishing of printed paper are handled by our printing partners. The board is recyclable in normal paper streams and, compared with plastic gift packaging, keeps the pack in a single material family. FSC® certified paper (C184527) is available on request, and the construction is designed to meet the requirements of the EU’s PPWR.

Frequently asked questions

No. Our cylinder boxes are made as secondary packaging, which means the chocolate should already be wrapped, foiled, flow packed or held in a primary pack before it goes into the box. We supply these boxes as secondary packaging rather than as food-contact packaging. Working as an outer pack is also what gives you the wider choice of papers, finishes and print effects that a direct contact liner would restrict.

The minimum order quantity is 1,000 pieces per design and size. Lead time is from four weeks after artwork and sample approval, depending on the finishing you specify and on tooling availability if your diameter is new to us. Capacity reaches up to 40,000 cardboard tubes per day, so seasonal peaks such as Christmas, Ramadan and Easter volumes can be planned into a single run.

Yes. We supply the die line and cutting template for your box and help your design team place the artwork on it correctly, including the overlap area on the wrap. Before the production run we prepare physical samples, printed or unprinted, so you can check print quality, board texture, lid fit and how your actual product sits inside. Send us a filled unit of your primary pack and we confirm the internal diameter first.

Yes. The cylinder is one of the more efficient shapes under load: pressure is distributed around the wall rather than taken by corners, and the high grammage, densely fibred board adds rigidity on top of that. In practice this means better resistance to crushing, dropped parcels and stacking pressure than an equivalent folding carton. We still recommend running your own transit test with the filled box before you commit to a courier specification.
