Custom Cylinder Boxes for Olive Oil Bottles

Extra virgin olive oil loses value on the shelf long before it reaches a kitchen. Polyphenols and flavour degrade under light, and even dark glass only slows that down. ArtasPack manufactures custom printed cylinder boxes and cardboard tubes for olive oil producers, from boutique mills to exporters shipping pallets. The opaque board body blocks light completely, and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm protects the bottle against impact, crushing and thermal shock in transit. Diameters run from 32 mm to 195 mm, so Marasca, Dorica and bespoke bottles sit snug. The full 360 degree surface carries your harvest data, origin story and brand in FSC certified board.

Olive oil boxes

Why a cardboard cylinder box for olive oil?

1. A complete barrier against light

Photo-oxidation is the main enemy of an extra virgin oil, and it works fastest under retail lighting. Dark glass reduces light transmission; an opaque board cylinder removes it. That protects polyphenol content and sensory quality across a longer sales window, which matters when your oil sits in a shop for months. The same body adds mechanical protection: a wall of 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm absorbs impact and spreads stacking load around the circumference, cutting breakage and leakage claims in export and parcel shipping.

2. From nature, back to nature

Olive oil buyers read the pack, so the pack has to hold up. Our cylinder boxes are made from kraft board and cellulose, recyclable in normal paper streams, with water based adhesives and soy based ink options that keep the pack biodegradable rather than turning it into a laminate problem. FSC® certified paper (C184527) is available on request, so you can show customers that the board comes from responsibly managed forests. The construction is designed to meet the requirements of the EU’s PPWR for the markets you export into.

3. Finishes that carry a premium price

The cylinder gives you one continuous print area with no corner cutting through the artwork, which suits a label heavy category where harvest date, variety and estate all need space. Hot foil stamping in gold, silver or copper lifts a logo, embossing adds tactile depth, spot UV creates contrast on a matt ground and soft touch lamination signals quality on first handling. Work is produced with our printing partners from your files. Tooling covers 32 mm to 195 mm diameters, including corner supports for square Marasca bottles.

Materials, certification and quality

ArtasPack has produced cardboard tubes and cylinder boxes in Hadımköy, Istanbul since 1986, in a 6,000 m² plant twenty minutes from Istanbul Airport. Winding, labelling, die cutting and assembly are done in house, while printing and finishing of printed paper are handled by our printing partners. Paper is sourced from responsible forestry under FSC® certification (C184527), and adhesives are chosen from solvent free, odour neutral formulations so nothing transfers to the bottle or to the oil during storage.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The high density board body and the spiral winding give strong vertical and lateral resistance, and the closed cylinder wraps the bottle in a shock absorbing layer instead of leaving four corners exposed. Breakage in courier networks drops significantly. For heavier one litre formats we add a base pad or board fitment so the bottle cannot move inside the box.

We tool for the industry standard Marasca and Dorica bottles in 250 ml, 500 ml, 750 ml and 1000 ml, and for bespoke bottle designs at any diameter and height you specify. Square Marasca bottles can be supplied with corner supports so the bottle is held centrally in the round body. Diameters range from 32 mm to 195 mm.

The minimum order quantity is 1,000 pieces per design and size, with lead time from four weeks after approval. Printing is offset in CMYK or Pantone through our printing partners, with hot foil stamping, embossing, spot UV, matt or gloss lamination and soft touch coating available as finishing options on the same body.

Yes. We supply the die line and cutting template for your box and help your design team position artwork on it correctly. Before the production run we prepare physical samples, printed or unprinted, so you can confirm print quality, board texture and the actual fit of your bottle. Send us two sample bottles and we will verify the internal diameter first.
